Etisalat by e& Metro Station Overview
Etisalat by e& is the northern terminus of the Dubai Metro Green Line, in Zone 5. It is station G11, before Al Qusais, in the residential and commercial area of the same name.
The station has one of three free multi-storey Park and Ride sites on the network, sitting close to the Sharjah border. It is the park-and-ride choice for many Sharjah commuters who park here and ride the Green Line into the city, since the cost is much lower than paid parking in central Dubai.

Etisalat by e& Station opening hours and facilities
Etisalat by e& station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Etisalat by e& has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
The Park and Ride is free of charge and open whenever the station is open. Bays can fill up by 9:00 AM on weekdays as Sharjah commuters arrive, so an early start helps if you need a guaranteed space. The two upper levels usually have room when the lower ones are full.
The Green Line’s northern end
Etisalat by e& opened on 9 September 2011 as part of the first Green Line stretch, between this station and Al Jadaf. It has been the line’s northern end ever since, with no extension built or planned at this end. The Blue Line, opening in 2029, will not reach this corner of the city: the northern Blue Line branch starts at Centrepoint on the Red Line and runs east through Mirdif, not north into Al Qusais.
The station carries the name of the UAE telecoms company that has sponsored it since opening. The original name was Etisalat. When the brand rebranded to e& in 2022, the station was renamed Etisalat by e& to match. The station code (G11) has stayed through both names, and older signs, route announcements and printed maps still use the original Etisalat.
Free park-and-ride for the Sharjah commute
Etisalat by e& sits close to the Sharjah border, and the free multi-storey Park and Ride at the station is one of the most-used on the network. Many Sharjah commuters park here in the morning and ride the Green Line into the city, since parking in Downtown or DIFC is much more expensive and harder to find. The site is free of charge and open whenever the station is open, with the two upper levels usually free even when the lower ones fill up.
Three of the Metro’s Park and Ride sites sit at terminus stations, and Etisalat by e& is the only one on the Green Line. The others are at Centrepoint on the Red Line and Energy on the Life Pharmacy branch. All three are free and reached by lift or stair direct into the station concourse.
Onwards into Sharjah and beyond
For travel into Sharjah itself, the RTA runs intercity bus services from the station, including the 53 and the express E306, both on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Both take your Nol card. The Sharjah Sayer card is only needed once you transfer to local Sharjah transport. The bus is usually faster than the road on a busy weekday morning, when the M Bin Zayed Road traffic builds from about 7:30 AM. For weekend trips back into Dubai, the Park and Ride bays here are the cheapest leave-the-car option that does not need a top-up at the meter.
Heading north towards Sharjah from here, the RTA bus 53 or E306 from the station is faster than a taxi on most weekdays once Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road traffic builds. Both take a Nol card. The Sharjah Sayer card is not needed once you are on an RTA-run intercity bus.
Fares from Etisalat by e& Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
