The Gold Line is a planned Dubai Metro line, announced on 22 April 2026 and scheduled to open on 9 September 2032. It is planned to run 42 km with 18 stations and to be Dubai's first fully underground line. It will serve 15 areas across the city, with reported links to the Green Line, the Red Line and Etihad Rail.

Overview
The Gold Line is the next line after the Blue Line in Dubai's rail plan, approved in April 2026 with an AED 34 billion budget. Unlike the Red and Green Lines, it is planned to run entirely underground, which the RTA says will let it cross dense, built-up parts of the city that elevated track cannot reach. It is meant to tie together a long corridor of growth areas and to connect with both existing Metro lines and the national Etihad Rail, per Gulf Business.
Main stations on the Gold Line and what is at each
The RTA has not yet published a full station-by-station list. From the route map released with the announcement, reporting describes a corridor running through Al Ghubaiba, Bur Dubai, Al Satwa, Business Bay, Meydan, Al Barsha South, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Dubai Production City and Jumeirah Golf Estates, per Khaleej Times. A Meydan station is reported to link with Etihad Rail. Treat these as planned areas rather than confirmed station names, as the detail will firm up as construction nears.

Fares and zones on the Gold Line
When it opens, the Gold Line is expected to use the same Nol card and zone-based fares as the rest of the Metro, charged by the zones a trip crosses, in line with the RTA Nol fares page. The zones for the new stations have not been set, since the line is years from opening, so no fare can be confirmed yet. Changes to the Red and Green Lines would be charged as a single fare by total zones, as on the rest of the network.
Gold Line timings detail
The Gold Line is not built, so there are no train times. Construction is planned to follow tendering in 2026 and contract awards in 2027, with the opening targeted for 9 September 2032, per Gulf Business. When it opens it is likely to run the same hours as the rest of the Metro, but nothing on timings is confirmed at this stage.
Future plans and extensions
The Gold Line is the long-range part of Dubai's rail expansion, coming after the Blue Line that opens in 2029. The RTA describes the network growing in stages: to about 131 km after the Blue Line, and further once the Gold Line is added, per Khaleej Times. Because it is fully underground and years away, expect the route, station names and figures to change as detailed design and tendering progress.
Tips for riders
There is nothing to ride yet, so this is planning information only. If you are following the network for property or commute reasons, the areas to watch are Business Bay, Meydan, Al Barsha South and the Jumeirah Village and Golf Estates side, which the Gold Line is planned to serve.
