35 stations from Centrepoint to Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy. Trunk runs from Centrepoint to National Paints, then forks to the Route 2020 branch (Expo 2020) and the Life Pharmacy spur.
20 stations from Etisalat by e& to Creek through Deira, the Creek and Bur Dubai. Meets the Red Line at Union and BurJuman.
11 stops along the coast from JBR through Dubai Marina to Al Sufouh. Walking links to the Red Line at DMCC and Sobha Realty, and to the Palm Monorail at Palm Jumeirah.
Those codes are reserved but never went into service. The RTA numbered the original Red Line in increments that left room for infill stations between existing stops. None of the gaps have been built. Trains run from R26 Business Bay straight to R29 ONPASSIVE, and from R29 to R31 Equiti, with no platform in between.
The RTA sells naming rights on several stations to companies, and the name changes when a new sponsor signs on. Sobha Realty was Dubai Marina, then DAMAC Properties. DMCC was Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Centrepoint was Rashidiya. Older signs, maps and announcements may still use the previous names. The station code (such as R36 or R11) never changes with the sponsor, so it is the safest reference when a map is out of date.
Two: DMCC (R37) links to JLT (T3) on the Tram through a covered skybridge of under two minutes, and Sobha Realty (R36) links to Dubai Marina (T5) on the Tram through a covered footbridge across Sheikh Zayed Road. Both are tap-out, walk, tap-in changes rather than same-paid-area transfers, but the fare counts as one trip by total zones crossed.
Yes. Every Red and Green Line station has lifts to all levels, tactile paving on the platform edge, dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train, and step-free routes from the street to the platform. Most have a second exit too, useful when one side of the station is closer to your destination than the other.
The RTA Park and Ride sites are at Centrepoint (R11) at the northern end of the Red Line, Energy (R40) on the Life Pharmacy branch, Etisalat by e& (G11) at the northern end of the Green Line, and Jebel Ali (R72 area) for the southern branches. Most others share the car park of an attached mall or office tower rather than running a dedicated Park and Ride.
Union (R18 / G20) is the busiest on the network. It is one of only two Red and Green Line interchanges, the other being BurJuman, and sits in central Deira next to Al Ghurair Centre. Around the airport and Downtown, Airport Terminal 3 and Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall are the busiest single-line stops, especially during evening peak.
Yes, between the Red and Green Lines. At Union or BurJuman you walk from one platform to the other inside the same paid area, with no second tap and no second fare. A change between the Metro and the Dubai Tram is different: at DMCC and Sobha Realty you tap out, walk across a footbridge, and tap in again, but the trip is still charged by total zones crossed.
