Creek Metro Station Overview
Creek is the southern terminus of the Dubai Metro Green Line, in Zone 6. It is station G30, after Al Jadaf, sitting next to the Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station on the Dubai Creek.
From the marine station, air-conditioned 20-seat abras run to Dubai Festival City Mall for AED 2 every 10 to 20 minutes, faster and more scenic than the road for the same hop. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, the largest public library in the Arab world, sits a five to ten minute walk from the station exit.

Creek Station opening hours and facilities
Creek station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Creek has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
The abra across the Creek to Dubai Festival City Mall is AED 2 paid in cash to the boat operator, with departures every 10 to 20 minutes. The crossing takes a few minutes and stays out of traffic, which beats the road on any busy afternoon.
A terminus that is changing shape
Creek opened on 1 March 2014 as part of the second Green Line extension, alongside Al Jadaf. It is the line’s southern end today, but that ends in 2029. The Blue Line is planned to open on 9 September 2029, the twentieth anniversary of the Metro, and Creek is one of two stations where it will interchange with the existing network. The other is Centrepoint, on the Red Line at the northern end of town.
The Blue Line at Creek will run east through Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour and Ras Al Khor, joining a second branch from Centrepoint at International City 1, then continuing to Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City. From 2029, a single tap at Creek opens up the whole eastern side of the city for the first time.
Crossing the Creek by air-conditioned abra
The Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station sits next to the Metro, with 20-seat air-conditioned abras that cross to Dubai Festival City Mall for AED 2 in cash. The boats run every 10 to 20 minutes, take a few minutes to cross, and are faster than the road on any busy afternoon. The boats are bigger and quieter than the traditional wooden abras at Al Ghubaiba and Gold Souq, with shaded seating throughout. Most riders use the link to reach the mall, the festival waterfront, or the InterContinental hotel cluster, but it also works as a cheap, scenic city break on its own.
The library a short walk away
A five to ten minute walk from the station, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is the largest public library in the Arab world. The building is open to the public for free, with reading rooms across several floors, a children’s library, an Emirati-history archive, and views over the Creek from the upper floors. Free Wi-Fi covers the building. The walk follows a wide pavement along the Creek edge, and is signposted at the station exit. For visitors with an afternoon to fill in this part of town, the library plus an abra crossing to Festival City makes a comfortable half-day loop.
Use the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library as a quiet weekday afternoon detour. The walk from the station takes five to ten minutes, the building is open to the public, and the upper-floor reading rooms have free Wi-Fi and Creek views.
Fares from Creek Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
