Abu Baker Al Siddique Metro Station Overview
Abu Baker Al Siddique is a Green Line station in Zone 5, on the north side of central Deira. It is station G18, between Abu Hail on the north side and Salah Al Din on the south side.
The station sits on Abu Baker Al Siddique Road, one of the older arterial roads through Deira, and serves the Al Muraqqabat residential and commercial district. The area is dense with mid-rise apartment blocks, budget hotels, tailoring shops, and South Asian and Filipino restaurants. It is far less tourist-facing than the souk-side stations to the south.

Abu Baker Al Siddique station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM

Abu Baker Al Siddique has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
Al Muraqqabat has one of the city's older Chinese food clusters, with several long-standing restaurants along the parallel side streets off Abu Baker Al Siddique Road. Most stay open late and are popular with residents rather than tourists, so quality is generally consistent and prices are lower than in Downtown.
Al Muraqqabat, the older east-of-Union district
Al Muraqqabat is one of the older mid-city residential districts, laid out in the 1970s and 1980s as the residential support area for the Deira commercial centre. The district sits east of Union and north of the Salah Al Din office cluster, with a grid of mid-rise apartment blocks, older villas, and long-standing small businesses along the arterial roads. Gulf News has profiled the area as one of the districts most tourists never see, with a working residential feel that has been consistent through the city’s boom years.
Abu Baker Al Siddique Road, the arterial
The road that the station takes its name from runs from the airport area north through Deira to the Sharjah side. Along its central stretch, through Al Muraqqabat, the road carries mid-range hotels, currency exchanges, and one of the city’s older concentrations of budget South Asian and Filipino restaurants. The parallel side streets to the east and west carry small residential-scale commerce: tailors, laundries, groceries, sweet shops. The pace is unhurried by day and busy in the evening, when residents come out for the cooler hours.
The Deira Chinese food cluster
One of Al Muraqqabat’s less-known features is its older Chinese food cluster, along the side streets off Abu Baker Al Siddique Road. Several long-standing restaurants have been in the district for two decades or more, mostly Sichuan and Cantonese, serving the resident Chinese community and the wider Deira population. Time Out Dubai’s guide to Chinese food in the emirate lists several of the Al Muraqqabat operators as the city’s most authentic. Most stay open past midnight, and prices are noticeably lower than in Downtown for comparable dishes.
The station is one of the network's older-built stops with a covered surface entrance rather than the newer glass-and-steel canopy design. The concourse is compact and the walk from the platform to the exit takes less than two minutes even at peak. Feeder buses to Al Nahda and the outer residential districts leave from the surface bay.
Fares from Abu Baker Al Siddique Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
