Times are estimates based on about two minutes per stop plus five minutes for any interchange. For live service updates, check the RTA news channel and the S'hail app.

The planner tells you which line to board, the direction to travel, how many stops the journey is, whether an interchange is needed and roughly how long the trip takes. Where the Red Line forks at National Paints, it also tells you which branded service to board so you do not end up on the wrong branch.
The estimate uses a rough two minutes per stop and adds five minutes for a mid-journey interchange. Actual times vary with dwell time at busy stations, the length of platform walks and how long you wait for the next service, especially off-peak and late at night. Use the estimate to plan, and the RTA S'hail app for a live minute-by-minute view.
Union and BurJuman are the two Red and Green Line interchanges. For each trip the planner picks whichever gives the shorter overall journey based on the number of stops on each leg. On some pairs the two are close; on others one interchange is clearly better because it sits nearer both your start and your destination.
No. Interchange between the Red and Green Lines at Union or BurJuman happens inside the paid area, so you do not tap out between platforms. The whole trip counts as a single continuous journey on your Nol card and the fare is calculated once across all zones you cross.
Since 15 April 2024 the Red Line has two direct services from Centrepoint, one that continues past National Paints to Expo 2020 and one that continues past National Paints to Life Pharmacy through Ibn Battuta, Energy and Danube. If your destination is on a branch, the planner shows you which branded service to board, since the wrong one means doubling back at National Paints.
Not yet. This is a Metro-only route planner for now. The Dubai Tram walking interchanges to the Red Line at DMCC and Sobha Realty are not step-through, so a Tram-inclusive plan needs a different treatment. Tram support is coming soon.
