Dubai Investment Park Metro Station Overview
Dubai Investment Park is a Red Line station in Zone 1, on the southern Route 2020 branch. It is station R74, between Jumeirah Golf Estates on the east side and the Expo 2020 southern terminus on the south side.
The station serves Dubai Investment Park, a mixed-use free zone laid out in the late 1990s combining industrial, warehousing and residential clusters across two zones (DIP 1 and DIP 2). The station is the second-newest on the network, having opened with the Route 2020 branch on 1 January 2021 alongside Al Furjan and the other Route 2020 stops.

Dubai Investment Park Station opening hours and facilities
Dubai Investment Park station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Dubai Investment Park has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
For the residential side of DIP, DIP 1 (north of the station), use the north exit. Feeder buses to the residential clusters, industrial workshops and DIP 2 leave from the surface bay. For an evening or weekend visit to Expo City Dubai, stay on the train one more stop to the terminus.
The Route 2020 branch and the Expo build
Dubai Investment Park station opened on 1 January 2021 as part of the Route 2020 branch, the extension built to carry visitors to the Expo 2020 world fair. The Route 2020 line was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid with the first passenger trip from Jebel Ali (now National Paints) to Al Furjan on that day. The full six-station branch, running from the National Paints fork south through Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates, this station, and on to Expo 2020, opened over the following months.
The line adds around 15 km of track to the Red Line and was designed to handle the peak visitor loads of the world fair. Since the fair closed and the site rebranded as Expo City Dubai, the branch continues to run a full timetable, though at less frequent intervals than the trunk.
Dubai Investment Park, the free zone
Dubai Investment Park itself is one of the larger free zones by area in the emirate, laid out in the late 1990s under the Dubai Investments group. The zone combines industrial and warehousing plots with residential clusters, laid out across two zones (DIP 1 north of the station, DIP 2 south and west). The residential clusters house company staff and support workers for the industrial tenants; the industrial plots carry manufacturing, logistics and light industry.
The station serves both sides of the zone, with feeder buses from the surface bay running to the internal cluster roads that the Metro does not reach directly. On weekends the station is quiet; on weekdays it picks up between 6 AM and 8 AM as shift workers arrive.
The last stop before Expo City
For visitors, the main relevance of Dubai Investment Park is that it is the last stop before Expo City Dubai. A one-stop hop south to the terminus lands you at the Expo City gate, AED 3 on a Silver Nol card. Some Expo City event attendees park near DIP and ride one stop into the fair to avoid the busier gate car parks; the Route 2020 branch continues from here as a through service, with the same timetable as the rest of the branch.
The Route 2020 branch closes earlier than the trunk. The last southbound train from here to Expo 2020 runs about 10:53 PM Sunday to Thursday, 11:54 PM Friday. If you are riding late from Expo City back into town, board earlier rather than later to be sure of a through service.
Fares from Dubai Investment Park Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
