DMCC Metro Station Overview
DMCC is a Red Line station in Zone 2, named after the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, the free zone whose towers cluster around it. It is station R37, between Sobha Realty and National Paints, and it opened in 2009 as Jumeirah Lakes Towers before being renamed to its current sponsor name.
The station has a covered, air-conditioned skybridge to the Dubai Tram at Jumeirah Lakes Towers (T3), the fastest route from the Red Line to JBR and the Marina coast. The walk takes under two minutes and you stay indoors the whole way.

DMCC Station opening hours and facilities
DMCC station keeps the standard RTA opening hours, the same right across the network:
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
DMCC has the standard Dubai Metro facilities, confirmed in the official RTA passenger guide. The station is step-free, with lifts to all levels, tactile guidance paths, and dedicated wheelchair spaces on every train. Nol card machines and a ticket counter sit inside the concourse, alongside bilingual signage and information screens. Du Wi-Fi covers the network.
Every regular train carries three cabin types: Gold Class at one end, a Women and Children cabin with pink signage, and Standard cabins. Door pictograms on the platform show where each cabin stops. The station has at least one bus connection, dedicated Metro Police, CCTV throughout, and emergency call points on every platform and train.
The JLT skybridge is the fastest way from the Red Line to the Tram on the network. It is covered and air-conditioned, takes under two minutes, and you do not step outside until you board the Tram. The other Red Line walk to the Tram, at Sobha Realty, is longer and crosses Sheikh Zayed Road.
From DMCC to the Tram, JBR and the Marina
DMCC has the most direct interchange to the Dubai Tram on the Red Line. From the platform, follow the signs to the JLT skybridge, which crosses the surface road to the Tram at Jumeirah Lakes Towers (T3). The walk is fully indoors and takes under two minutes. From there the Tram runs west to Dubai Marina, Marina Mall and on to JBR 1 and 2, the stops for The Walk and the beach.
The other Red Line stop with a Tram link is Sobha Realty (R36), one station back, but that link is a longer walk across a footbridge over Sheikh Zayed Road. For DMCC and the JLT towers, DMCC is the right stop; for JBR direct, either station works and Sobha Realty saves a stop on the Tram. The Tram fare is included in your overall zone tally, not charged as a separate trip, so a Red Line plus Tram ride is paid once on your Nol card by total zones crossed.
Inside the DMCC free zone
DMCC is the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, a government-owned free zone for trade in gold, diamonds, tea and other commodities. Its head office is in Almas Tower, the diamond-shaped building that stands at the centre of the JLT skyline. The wider district has dozens of office towers, ground-floor restaurants and a lake walk that loops the cluster in two rings.
The station exits put you on the JLT side of the district, so the towers are a short walk on a covered pavement. For the lake walk and the food halls, head into the cluster from the exit and follow the signs to the lakes. Cluster maps sit at every exit and along the walkways, which helps because the lettered clusters can be confusing on a first visit.
If you are heading to a JLT office or meeting, check the cluster letter and tower number before you set off. The clusters wrap around the lakes in two rings, so a wrong turn at the station exit can add ten minutes to the walk. Cluster maps sit at the exits and on the lake walkways.
Fares from DMCC Station
Fares depend on how many zones your trip crosses, not how many stations you pass. A Silver Nol card costs AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two zones, and AED 7.50 for three or more zones, per the RTA Nol fares page. A personal Blue Nol card pays the same as Silver. Gold Class costs double: AED 6, 10 or 15 across the same bands.
Without a Nol card, the Red ticket is a separate, higher tariff of AED 4, 6 or 8.50 by zone band, and the blank ticket costs AED 2 to buy. Children aged five and under travel free, and travel is free for People of Determination.
