Metro or taxi?

For one or two people, the Metro wins on cost and predictability. For a family with luggage, or in a hurry, a taxi is door to door and skips the walk.

OptionCostTimeBest for
MetroAED 5 (Silver Nol)~25 minCheapest, no traffic
TaxiAED 47 to 6920 to 29 minDoor to door, luggage, families
Taxi figures are an estimate, based on the RTA street-hail meter (about AED 5 to start, around AED 2 per kilometre, AED 12 minimum) as reported by Gulf News. The final fare moves with traffic, the time of day, app pricing and any Salik tolls.
From a Dubai resident

BurJuman is an interchange, so which platform you board from matters. For the Mall of the Emirates trip, take the Red Line side (marked R19) not the Green Line. Signs from the ticket gates point at both line colours; the Red Line platform is the southbound side, marked for Life Pharmacy or Expo 2020. Ten stops, no change once on board.

After you arrive at Mall of the Emirates

Mall of the Emirates station sits next to the mall on the upper level, with a covered air-conditioned link straight into the mall and Ski Dubai about 140 metres from the platform.

For more on the area around Mall of the Emirates, what is close by and worth a stop, see the Mall of the Emirates station guide.
